Does D2007 require administrator rights?
I always install software using Administrator and I use a non-Administrator user for most of what I do. That is what we are supposed to do. Unfortunately some old software installs itself for just the Administrator user. I am using XP Pro and I have turned off simple sharing.

I even created a new user - gave domain admin rights and used that ID with success. So I dont think there is any spot for special permissions. The only thing I can think of is that Administrator has some security put on the account that came with SP1 to stop you from using the id? Just a guess.

But it doesn't matter in terms of getting into the machine. Even if the OP was using the built-in Administrator, it is a matter of less than 5 minutes to change the password

Help Me Understand User Accounts
So you log on as *an* administrator, ie a member of the Administrators group, not *the* Administrator, the built-in member of the Administrators group. Some people see this as a fine distinction but it's not. Let me assure you that not using Administrator for day-to-day use is most definately a *good* idea.

Searching using LDAP on Win2000
Hi Klaus I'm using Administrator and surely have rights to access the network drives or the UNC path. But I just can't access these programs using AT command. For example, I spawn a command from PDC to NT workstation. The command is accessing a network drive program, ie "i:\wntipcfg.exe".
